Chiyoda Singapore CSR Activities

Walk for our less fortunate children.

Chiyoda Recreation Club (CRC) have completed another milestone to show our commitment to take part in caring for our society. On 30 July 2017, CRC participated in the Walk For Children 2017 charity event which was organized by Singapore Children Society. The event was held at the Chinese Garden.

One of the highlights of the event was selling assorted cakes to raise fund for the less fortunate children.

Our Managing Director, Yanagihara san, CRC team and Chiyoda employees were all present at the event to assist in packing the cakes for sale.

We are overwhelmed by the respond from the public. All 3000 pieces of cakes was sold out by 10.30am.

According to the media report on Monday, July 31, 2017, a total amount of $350K was raised during the event. CRC was proud to be involved in this meaningful event and we hope this spirit of caring for our society will continue as part of the yearly company’s event to be organized by CRC.

On Sat, 17 Sep 2016, more than half a million volunteers around the world participated in the 31st International Coastal Cleanup!

In Singapore, our coastlines host a vast amount of biodiversity. Trash present in these areas can impact our wildlife adversely and devalue the natural beauty of the landscape.

Volunteers in Singapore, like other concerned individuals around the world, conduct coastal cleanups to remove this trash, raise awareness about the impact of marine trash, and motivate us to adopt sustainable practices in daily urban living.

Chiyoda Singapore, together with Singapore Environment Council, went down to the West Coast Park & Beach to do our part. Spit into 2 groups, we covered the beach and the playground area of the park.

In total, we collected 21kg worth of trash and also a bag of recyclable items. We could instantly see the results of a cleaner and greener area.

In August 2015, Chiyoda Singapore (CSL) together with Singapore Children Society brought a total of 40 children on an excursion to Gardens by the Bay. These children aged between 4 to 8 years old are mainly from poor families. They lack the sufficient love and parental supervision.

Our valuable work was to spend our time with them with lots of comfort and joy. This trip has brought a huge smile on all of their faces as much as it did to all the CSL staffs that volunteered.
In July 2015, the north-western part of Myanmar was hit by torrential rains resulting in devastating floods and landslides, destroying houses, paddy fields, livestocks, roads, bridges and other infrastructure. Tens of thousands of homes were washed away, affecting the livelihoods of more than 30,000 acres of farmland.
CSL started a Myanmar Flood Relief and raised a substantial amount of fund which was handed over to Red Cross Singapore to help provide urgent care and life-saving aid (food, water, shelter materials, first aid kits, household supplies, and hygiene kits) and post-disaster recovery support for the families affected.
